Students with Indian nationality and one of the parents working abroad can apply for NRI direct admission.

Steps involved in the process of filling NRI online application form


New User Registration

  1. Enter all the relevant details carefully.
  2. A password will be sent from VIT to your registered e-mail id.
  3. All the communications will be sent to your registered e-mail id. Request for change of e-mail id will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Login with Password

Login to registered users with the email id and password received from VIT.

Filling Online Application Form

  1. Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
  2. An application number will be generated after completion.
  3. Refer your application number for all your future correspondence.

Payment

  1. Application fee of USD 50 (Non Refundable) to be paid.

Photo Upload

  1. The photograph must be taken against a light background. Only White/off-white background is preferred.
  2. The photograph must show the full frontal view without tilting of face, both ears visible, open eyes with neutral expression.
  3. Make sure there is no glare from spectacles and no blur in the focus.
  4. The file should be only in JPEG format.
  5. The file size of the photograph should be within 20 kB to 300 kB.
  6. The photograph dimension should be of Width(300 to 400 pixels) X Height (400 to 550 pixels).
  7. The photograph should not be too dark or too bright but should have optimum exposure.
  8. The photograph should have only one face.

  2. 11th grade marksheet/AS Level/Form V(for appearing candidates) & 12th grade mark sheet/A Level/Form VI (for passed out candidates).

Eligibility


General Eligibility

  • Indian National students whose parents are employed outside India.
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2004 are eligible to apply.
  • English as one of the subjects in the qualifying Examination.
  • Candidates must have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics, Biology, or Biotechnology as compulsory subjects.

    • Qualifying Board Eligibility

    • GCE examination of UK(British Examining Bodies) with Higher grades in five subjects at the Ordinary level (O) level and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology at the Advanced level (A level).
    • High School Certificate Examination, University of Cambridge local examinations, Syndicate, UK.
    • International Baccalaureate Examination of Geneva.
    • High School Diploma awarded by the accredited institutions of the USA.
    • 12 years High School - Grade 12 pass from the accredited institutions of Canada.
    • 12 years High School Graduation / Diploma / Certificate of an approved Board Schools of China, Thailand, Indonesia, Bhutan, Syria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf Countries.
    • 12 years Secondary Stage qualifications of National Examination Board / Council of Ministry of Education of Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.
    • High School Certificate HSC and Cambridge School Certificate A level from the accredited institutions of Mauritius.
    • Equivalent certificate from UGC (University Grants Commission) is mandatory, if passed from Universities/Boards other than India.

    Subject Eligibility

    • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCMB/PCM) passed with minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM and with not less than 50% in Mathematics are eligible for all B.Tech Programmes.
    • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) passed with minimum aggregate of 60% in PCB and with not less than 50% in Biology are eligible only for the following programmes :

      Children of Indian citizens’ parents working abroad are considered under the NRI category.

    • 4. Can a relative sponsor my admission?

      NRI sponsorship to be provided only by your parent (father or mother). Sponsorship from relatives or friends is usually not accepted.

    • 5. Is there an entrance exam for NRI admissions?
