About Programme
B.Arch.
B. Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) is a five-year undergraduate degree focused on designing, planning, and constructing buildings and other structures. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical studio work and requires creativity, analytical skills, and a strong aptitude for subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, which are typically required for admission.
NATA
- The NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is a national level aptitude test organized by Council of Architecture. This exam is organized for those aspirants looking for admission in architecture courses like B.Arch. offered by top institutions of the country. This test measures the aptitude of the candidate for the field of architecture
- Applicants seeking admissions for B.Arch. in VIT, Vellore campus should qualify through NATA. Please refer the website for filling NATA online application. NATA score card is mandatory for admission to B.Arch. programme.

Application Process
New User Registration
- Valid e-mail address and active mobile number are required.
- Enter all the relevant details carefully.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered Indian Mobile Number for verification.
- Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address.
- All the correspondence shall be made to the registered email address and mobile number only.
Login for Registered User
- Login using the credentials as valid registered email id and password received to your email from VIT.
Filling online Application Form
- Fill in the relevant fields carefully. An Application Number will be generated after filling education details.
- Refer this application number for all your future correspondence.
Payment
- Application cost of Rs.1,350/- should be paid through Netbanking / Credit card / Debit card.
- Application cost is non-refundable.
Photo uploading procedure:
The photograph must be in colour and should be taken professionally in a studio with the following specifications:- The photograph must be taken against a light background. Only White/off-white background is preferred.
- The photograph must show the full frontal view without tilting of face, both ears visible, open eyes with neutral expression.
- Make sure there is no glare from spectacles and no blur in the focus.
- The file should be only in (.jpeg or .jpg) format.
- The file size of the photograph should be within 20 kB to 300 kB.
- The photograph dimension should be of Width (300 to 400 pixels) X Height (400 to 550 pixels).
- The photograph should not be too dark or too bright but should have optimum exposure.
- The photograph should have only one image.
Signature uploading procedure:
- Please draw a rectangular box of size 6 cm (width) X 2 cm (height) on a A4 white paper. Sign with dark blue or black pen within the box.
- Scan the signature in (.jpeg or .jpg) format using scanner and crop the image.
- You can open the scanned signature image with MS Paint and crop the image at the particular rectangular box which was already marked and signed on the A4 white paper.
- While cropping the image make sure that the dimension should be 3.5 cm (width) X 1.5 cm (height).
- The scanned signature image size should be within 5 kB to 150 kB.

Admission Guidelines
Eligibility
- Applicants who have studied through regular, full-time, and formal education with English as one of the subjects are eligible to apply.
- Students who have appeared for their 10+2 / HSC examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they submit their passing certificate by the notified date.
- Valid NATA score card is mandatory.
Nationality
The applicant should be a Resident Indian National.
Age Limit
- Applicants born on or after 01.07.2004 are eligible to apply for B.Arch. programme for the academic year 2026-27.
- Applicants must submit the Age Proof (Birth certificate / Passport Copy) as proof of their age during counselling / admission. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the admission process.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates applying for B.Arch. programme should have either completed or shall be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2026 :- The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 examination.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination
of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK
For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - A Level/ Chemistry - A/AS Level and English - A/AS Level. - High School Certificate Examination
of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the
International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL/HL - Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.
Subject Eligibility
A pass in 10+2 / HSC with an overall aggregate of 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects and valid NATA score.
In case of applicants belonging to SC/ST community or applicants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Selection Criteria
- Admission will be based on the obtained rank.
- Seat allotment is based on the candidate's rank and seat availability.
- Information regarding seat allotment, instructions for admission fee payment, and downloading the allotment letter will be communicated to the candidates.
- Candidates can download the provisional admission letter after full fee payment.
- Provisional admission will be cancelled at any point of time if the candidate fails to fulfill the eligibility norms.
- The fact that a candidate has been qualified and shortlisted does not guarantee admission to him/ her.
